Original oil painting on stretched cotton canvas, 20 x 16 inches, framed as shown. This study is one of Joseph's early paintings and the first to display his characteristic style of composition and use of the golden ratio. It is also Joseph's first use of drapery in a painting. He might have chosen an easier subject than a battered, old, crinkled tea towel.
