Waterwolf
kunstcollectief

Waterwolf Kunstcollectief is a planned cooperative meant to support several fine artists in a common setting. In fruition, the collectief will offer studio and gallery space for four to twelve working resident artists, gallery space and shows for a wider selection of fine artists and folk artists working in the Haarlem area and certain core facilities for resident artists. It is hoped that Waterwolf Kunstcollectief will foster interaction and promotion among Haarlem-area artists and galleries, and attract an increased audience of art buyers to our city.

The vision for Waterwolf Kunstcollectief is one of a busy art center where visitors can see local artists immersed in their creative processes; customers have the opportunity to commission and purchase original art and related gifts; nearby and traveling artists can attend workshops, demonstrations and talks; and folks can enjoy a coffee and pastry. Resident artists will have the benefit of working in a setting where they can draw inspiration, find motivation, and collaborate with other artists. We seek to contribute and add growth to the community of artists working in and around Haarlem. We believe that all artists prosper when the community they are a part of is strong and works together.

Waterwolf is cryptid imagery for the cresting waters that threaten to gnaw away at the land and cities of Noord-Holland, specifically in the Harlemmermeer. For centuries the land lion of Nederland has fought against the waterwolf, most successfully with the polders that fill our area.
